A Day of Purpose, Talent, and Promise: Coastal Region Youth Day 2026
As part of the day’s activities, participants contributed to the jurisdiction’s food drive, with all donations provided to a local area food pantry—demonstrating the spirit of service and community impact that defines our program.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Desheka Williams, delivered an inspiring message titled “ABC for Teens: T.I.C. (Tellers in Christ).” Her presentation emphasized personal growth, purpose, and authenticity. She shared how life’s challenges have shaped her journey and reinforced her commitment to inspiring others. Mrs. Williams encouraged attendees to think creatively, embrace who they are, and strive to leave every interaction better than they found it. Her message centered on hope, self-discovery, and the importance of walking in one’s purpose daily.
The program also featured a dynamic youth showcase, where both Knights and Gleaners demonstrated their talents across a variety of areas. Youth showcased their artistic abilities, demonstrated skills in martial arts, and expressed themselves through poetry and dance. Additional talent included youth playing musical instruments, while several participants shared their remarkable voices through song—further highlighting their versatility and dedication.
It was truly inspiring to witness the depth of talent represented across the state. Moments like these serve as a powerful reminder of the creativity, discipline, and potential within our young people.
In addition to the showcase, the event included track and field activities, where a number of youth competed. Their participation highlighted not only their athletic abilities but also their spirit of teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition.
Most Worshipful Grand Master James Russell also addressed the youth, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to be among them. He shared how inspiring it was to witness their talents firsthand and to experience the energy and enthusiasm they brought to the event.
The day concluded with a wonderful lunch prepared by the regional Brothers and Sisters, further emphasizing the fellowship and unity that made this event a success.
Overall, the Coastal Region’s Youth Day was a meaningful and impactful experience for all involved.
Grand Youth Directress Beverly Richardson and I extend our sincere appreciation to the Coastal Regional Leadership for a job exceptionally well done in organizing such a successful event.
